Yorkshire Vet Peter Wright is to open the Tesco supermarket in Ripon on Thursday (November 20).
Mr Wright, star of Channel 5's The Yorkshire Vet, will cut the ribbon at the entrance of the new store on Marshall Way to mark its opening at 8am.
The Tesco is on the same site as Booths, which closed in July.
Its opening hours will be Monday to Saturday 7am to 10pm and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
Store manager Richard Butcher said:
“We are extremely excited to be opening our new store and helping to serve the local community. We want to offer great value to our customers and the benefits of Tesco Clubcard and clubcard prices.
“Colleagues have moved across from the old store and have brought such great experience and local knowledge.”
In a press release today. Tesco said it would donate £1,000 to Ripon Community House, on Allhallowgate, which provides facilities for community groups.
