Ripon is set to lead the local New Year celebrations once again tonight.
Thousands of people are expected to attend the free party in Market Square, culminating in the midnight countdown and fireworks to usher in 2026.
The night combines tradition with partying.
It begins at 9pm with the short nightly hornblower ceremony, which dates back to the year 886.
After the hornblower departs, Dancing through the Decades and the Aftersun Band will take to a makeshift stage to provide live music.
The music will continue until midnight, when fireworks will be set off to greet 2026.
Tonight also sees Ripon Cathedral’s annual Watchnight service at 11.15pm.
It is followed by a procession to the Market Square for a blessing of the city just before the midnight countdown.
A dry but cold night is forecast so revellers may wish to wrap up.
