Luxury women’s footwear shop closes in Harrogate

Luxury women’s footwear brand Carl Scarpa has closed its shop in Harrogate.

The business on James Street became the company’s fourth standalone store in England when it opened in 2021.

The company, which sells shoes and boots made of Italian leather, launched in 1974.

But yesterday the store was closed and empty.

Its demise means that James Street’s status as being fully occupied only lasted a matter of days.

When Dutch home and body care brand Rituals opened on Monday, it filled the last vacant unit on what is widely regarded as Harrogate’s most upmarket shopping street.

The Stray Ferret contacted Carl Scarpa but has not had a response.
