A man has been jailed for causing actual bodily harm to a woman in Harrogate.
Ian Keith Robinson, 51, was sentenced to 14 weeks imprisonment when he appeared before magistrates in Harrogate yesterday.
He was also ordered to pay £620 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a surcharge of £154.
Robinson, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman, who was named in court.
It occurred at an address in Harrogate between September 24 and 26 last year.
According to court documents, it was an "unprovoked attack" and "so serious that only a custodial sentence can be justified".
