Firefighters called to roof fire in Harrogate
Two fire crews were called after roofing materials caught fire at a property in Harrogate this afternoon (April 29).
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said Harrogate and Knaresborough firefighters were called to a property on Mayfield Terrace at 1.18pm, following reports of a fire to a flat roof.
The fire service said crews extinguished the fire and used a thermal imaging camera for hotspots, as well as “small gear to remove any burning material”.
It did not disclose how much, if any, damage was caused.
Nobody was in the property at the time of the fire, which is believed to have started “by the ignition of roof materials and timber”.
