A person has been ordered to pay compensation after intentionally damaging a police custody cell in Harrogate.
Casey Wright, 36, appeared at York Magistrates Court yesterday (April 7) charged with one offence of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.
According to court documents, Wright intentionally caused £72 worth of damage to a cell at Harrogate Police Station on September 18 last year.
The defendant, of an address in Thirsk, admitted the offence during yesterday’s hearing.
The magistrates ordered Wright to pay £72 in compensation to the police, plus a £153 fine and £85 in prosecution costs.
