North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after they arrested a man on suspicion of a number of driving offences, possession of a controlled drug, and arson with intent to endanger life.
The appeal is specifically in relation to the two collisions that happened shortly before the 44-year-old man was arrested.
According to a police statement today (October 6), the first collision occurred between a scaffolding truck and a silver Kia C'eed at the A59/B6451 crossroads near Menwith Hill on October 1 at around 8pm.
Around half an hour later, the silver Kia was reported to have collided with several parked vehicles on Old Church Lane in Pateley Bridge.
The vehicle was later located abandoned and the man, from Summerbridge, was arrested shortly after.
He appeared before court on October 3 and has been remanded in custody.
Police would particularly like to hear from witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage.
