Staff and students from Rossett School in Harrogate took over the Stray this past weekend for the town's weekly parkrun.

Students from the school, as well as year six pupils who are set to join Rossett in September, took part in the five-kilometre run on Saturday (April 26).

They were joined by staff, along with two babies in buggies and an energetic toddler. Behind the scenes, many more staff and parent volunteers helped to keep the event running smoothly.

More than 530 people took part in the three loops of the Stray.

Tim Milburn, headteacher at Rossett School, said:

We are delighted that Rossett School could support such a long-standing and valued community event. I’d like to thank Harrogate Parkrun for letting our school get involved, it was a hugely enjoyable morning, and we look forward to joining the Harrogate running community again soon.

He added:

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who took part or lent a helping hand, you made the morning truly special. Rossett School looks forward to more opportunities to connect with and support the wider community, one stride at a time.
