Four of the biggest names in the district's horticultural community will be on the panel of a 'green' Gardening Question Time in Knaresborough this month.

The event has been organised by the Knaresborough Forest Park team at Long Lands Common as a fun way to learn about sustainable gardening practices.

The distinguished panel includes:

  • Geoff Freeston, former manager of Horticap and co-ordinator of Green Connectors in Knaresborough
  • Chris Beard, former Director of Parks for Harrogate Borough Council and founder of Harrogate in Bloom
  • Sarah Owen-Hughes, head gardener at Rudding Park
  • Fiona Slight, garden manager at RHS Garden Harlow Carr

There will also be a brief presentation by a member of Knaresborough Town Council outlining Knaresborough's biodiversity policy.

The Knaresborough Gardening Question Time will be held at the Centre on Gracious Street on Wednesday, May 14.

There will be refreshments, a plant stall and a raffle, with prizes including vouchers from local businesses and a family pass to Harlow Carr Gardens.

Tickets cost £10 and are available from Castlegate Books in Knaresborough (cash only), the Red Box in Starbeck, and online here.
