A plan to build 11 new homes in Spofforth has been approved.
Venturi Homes, which is based in Headingley in Leeds, proposed the scheme for land at the back of Low Lane Farm in the village.
The proposal included full planning permission for nine new-build homes on the site and outline permission for two self-build properties.
Now, planning officers at North Yorkshire Council have approved the scheme.

Designs for the homes, as submitted to North Yorkshire Council.
In documents submitted to the council, the developer said the development would include a mixture of two, three, four and five-bedroom dwellings.
It added the the scheme was in a “sustainable location” and would have little impact on the local highway network.
The developer said:
It is therefore concluded the proposed development is in a sustainable location, with sustainable transport options and would not generate a significant impact on the local highway network.
The proposed development therefore fully accords with local and national policy objectives.
Emma Howson, case officer at the council, said the scheme would cause “less than substantial” harm to the setting of the grade-II listed Chanty House, Massey Garth and grade two listed Church of All Saints and that of the conservation area.
She added in her report that the supply of self-build homes would help to meet the council’s “shortfall of self-build plots at this time”.
She said:
These public benefits are considered sufficient to outweigh 'the less than substantial harm' to the setting of the listed buildings and that of the conservation area.
The council said the developer will be required to pay a contribution of £64,736 towards open space and provide details of a management plan to cover the area of open space within the site.
