The Harrogate Society of Magicians will bring an evening of magic, mystery and comedy to Pannal Village Hall this Saturday with The Full Box Set.

The event will feature four Yorkshire magicians, each bringing their own distinctive style and approach to the art of magic.

Proceeds from the evening will be shared between the Harrogate Society of Magicians and the Pannal Village Hall Committee, supporting both the society and the community venue.

The Mashamshire Show returns to Masham Town Hall this Saturday, continuing a tradition that began in 1968 as the Mashamshire Horticultural Show. 

The annual event gives competitors of all ages the opportunity to showcase their skills across horticulture, cookery and baking, arts, crafts and photography, with entries including vegetables, fruit, flowers and a dedicated children’s section. 

Visitors can browse the displays, enjoy tea and cakes and attend the presentation of trophies, followed by the distribution of produce by donation. 

The show will be open to the public from 1.30pm, with the trophy presentation taking place at 4pm.

Celebrate all things canine

DogFest on the Farm returns to Harewood House this weekend, bringing activities and entertainment for dogs and their owners.

The event will feature sheepdog trials, working dog displays and activities for visitors to try, alongside local food, regional produce and stalls from Yorkshire makers. 

TV chef James Martin will also appear across the weekend, hosting live cooking demonstrations and sharing advice on dog nutrition.

The Harrogate Health, Healing & Wellbeing Festival returns to the Pavilions at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate this weekend, bringing together therapists, psychic mediums and wellbeing practitioners alongside a range of specialist retailers. 

Visitors can browse stands featuring crystals and gemstones, health products, speciality teas, jewellery, holistic and Ayurvedic products, while exploring different approaches to health and wellbeing. 

The festival will also feature more than 20 free talks, workshops and demonstrations covering subjects related to mind, body and spirit.

Watch as a murder plot quickly goes wrong

Harrogate Theatre’s production of Dial M for Murder brings Frederick Knott’s classic thriller to the stage this September.

Set in 1952 London, the play follows Tony Wendice, a former tennis professional who devises a plan to murder his wealthy wife, Margot, after discovering her affair. 

However, when the carefully arranged scheme goes wrong, Tony must find a way to cover his tracks as suspicion begins to grow. Combining suspense, deception and psychological tension, the production promises an engaging theatrical experience for audiences. 

It also gives theatregoers the opportunity to see Knott’s original stage play, which was famously adapted into Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 film.
