With Bonfire Night on the horizon the Stray Ferret brings you a list of the bonfire and fireworks events happening across the Harrogate district.

Aspin firework display, Knaresborough
Gates at the Knaresborough Cricket Club will open at 6pm with the display to begin at 7pm.
Entry costs £5 for adults and £3 for children.
Spofforth village fireworks
Gates will open at 5pm and the firework display will start at 7.30pm.
There will be live music and refreshments.
Tickets are available from Spofforth Deli and Post Office.
Stray Bonfire, Harrogate
The bonfire will be lit on the Oatlands Stray near to St Aidan’s Church of England High School.
The event opens at 5pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm with the firework display to begin at 7:15pm.
It will take place from 5pm until 8.30pm and include fireworks, food and drink, and live music.
The event is free to attend but Harrogate Round Table, which is a charity, encourages donations of £5. Proceeds will go towards St Michael’s Hospice.
Upper Nidderdale Scouts Group Pateley Bonfire
The event will take place at the Pateley Bridge showground and will open at 6pm, with a torchlit procession and bonfire at 6.30pm. The firework display is set to begin at 7pm.
There will be a free to enter ‘best guy’ competition and food and drink on offer.
The event is organised by Upper Nidderdale Scout Group and is entry by donation. The proceeds will go towards the fireworks and raise funds for the local Scout group.
The suggested donation amount is £4 per person and £15 for a family.
Yolk Farm, Minskip
The event is a family and pet friendly bonfire night near Boroughbridge. It will begin at 5.30pm, and the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm.
There will be street food, a bar and a children’s play barn. Tickets cot £5pp (Babies 1 and under do not need a ticket)
Rudding Park
The evening begins with a Family Fire and LED Show on Clocktower Terrace with Poppy from Rascals Entertainment. Also includes an item of food and a drink from the outdoor food stalls.
from 5.45pm – 6.15pm there will be a family fire & LED show, at 6.30pm the bonfire will be lit and the fireworks will begin at 7pm.
Tickets cost £15pp
Kirby Malzeard
The bonfire will be held at North Close Farm. The fire will be lit at 6.30pm and the firework display will begin at 7pm.
The organisers ask for donations and there will be refreshments on offer.
Lightwater Valley
Lightwater Valley will put on a firework display accompanied by music. The display will begin at 5.15pm.
Queen’s Head Kettlesing bonfire party
The event will begin at 4pm with Fireworks starting at 7pm.
There will be fire pits, an outside bar, a silent disco and food available.
Tickets available from the pub and cost £8 for adults and £2 for children under 16.
The ticket price does not include food & drinks. It is a ticketed only event and the pub will be closed.
Starbeck firework spectacular
The event will be held at Harrogate Railway Centre, Station View.
The bar and fairground attractions will be open from 3pm and a fireworks display will begin at 7pm.
There will be a barbeque and live music. £2 entry with under 14s free.
Grewelthorpe bonfire and fireworks
The event will be held at ‘Lofty’s Field’ behind the Crown Inn.
The bonfire will be lit at 6.15pm and the firework display will begin at 7pm.
Entry is by cash donations. The event has been organised by the Grewelthorpe Sports and Social Association and refreshments will be available to purchase.
Mother Shipton Inn
The annual bonfire evening and fireworks display will return to Knaresborough.
The fireworks are set to begin at 7.00pm and food will be available.
Inclusive Fireworks, Starbeck
An inclusive fireworks event will take place at Unit 10, Provincial Works, Laundry Road, Starbeck, Harrogate
The event is aimed at anyone who likes fireworks but doesn’t like loud noises.
The immersive indoor virtual fireworks experience has been organised by Time Together.
The event will take place from 4pm-6pm. The event is open to everyone and and there is no need to book.
There will be some refreshments and craft activities available for a donation.
Scotton bonfire
Gates open at 6pm, fire starts 6.45pm and the fireworks start 7.15pm at Scotton Cricket Ground.
There is no charge for entry, donations on the gate are encouraged with any money going towards the following year's fireworks.
There will be a bar and barbeque but car parking is limited.
Ripon City Bonfire
The event will be held at Ripon Racecourse and will begin at 5.30pm, with the bonfire to be lit at 7pm followed by a firework display at 7.30pm.
The Ripon City Bonfire is organised and managed by volunteers from the Rotary club of Ripon Rowels. Entry on the gate costs £6pp and £3 for children. Advance tickets are available here.
Belmont Grosvenor School Bonfire Party
Gates open at 6pm at Swarcliffe Hall, Birstwith.
Tickets cost £10 in advance, and £12 on the door, and are available by emailing pta@belmontgrosvenor.co.uk
Masham Bonfire
Masham Bonfire will be held on The Holme. The bar and food will be available from 5pm, followed by the bonfire at 6.15pm.
There will also be a firework display at 7pm. The event is free to attend.
