Traditionally, the sign of a household welcoming trick-or-treaters was to have a lit-up pumpkin in your window or on your porch.
But it seems times have changed, and a new way to promote your house has come along.
A free community map offers residents the chance to add their house and have their door knocked on, even giving you the option to add a time slot (great if you want an early night) and say what treats you’re offering.
The hope is that it also helps families feel safe, as visitors can leave comments and flag safety concerns on the app.
Some reviewers have said their children are already looking at the map, planning out a route and marking some houses as ‘favourites’.
Currently, there are hundreds of houses listed across the Harrogate district – and with just days to go until Halloween, you’ve still just about got time to register your house too!
