Go to the Harrogate & District Allotment Federation Show

The Harrogate & District Allotment Federation will be holding its 63rd Annual Allotment Show in the Sun Pavilion in Valley Gardens on Sunday August 18.

The event provides allotment plot holders from across Harrogate, Ripon, Knaresborough and Boroughbridge with the opportunity to showcase their gardening achievements, which range from prize fruit and vegetables to beautiful flowers; and to exhibit their perfect baking and preserves made from home grown produce.

This year’s Show Schedule will include the Heaviest Onion, the Longest Runner Bean, an Arrangement in a Basket on a Parisian Olympic theme, Largest Sunflower Head, Four Olympic Cupcakes and, in the children’s classes, a Gingerbread Eiffel Tower and a Tree Grown from a Seed. Judging will take place from 10am-12noon after which the Sun Pavilion will be open so you can view the exhibits and results.

The allotment sites will also be producing ‘Over the Rainbow’ arrangements to include flowers, fruit and vegetables for this year’s Allotment Competition, which will be judged by Nick Smith, Director of the Harrogate Flower Shows.

Free, 11am-4pm, August 18, The Sun Pavilion and Colonnade, Cornwall Road, HG1 2PQ.
