Test your knowledge at a Burn’s Night Quiz

We might be in North Yorkshire, not Scotland, but that doesn’t mean Harrogate can’t celebrate Burn’s Night - with a twist on the tradition.

Horticap is hosting one of its regular quiz nights, themed around all things Scottish. All you need is three other friends – and a good team name, of course.

Attendees will also be able to tuck into a light Burn’s Night supper, washed down with a hot toddy.

Friday, January 24, 7pm – 9.30pm, Bluecoat Wood Nursery, Otley Road, Harrogate, HG3 1PT. Tickets can be purchased at the shop or by emailing info@horticap.org.

Shout 'he’s behind you' one last time at the panto

It's nearly the end of January, and with that comes the curtain call for pantomime season. If you're still yet to have your fill, however, there are still two pantos taking place this weekend.

Both Ripon Charity Pantomime Group's adaptation of Pinocchio, and Knaresborough Player’s Puss in Boots promise family-friendly entertainment, with plenty of opportunity to get involved in the action.

Ripon Charity Pantomime Group's Pinocchio takes place at Ripon Arts Hub, Ripon, HG4 1LQ from 7.30pm onwards, tickets cost £10 for adults, £8 for concessions.

Knaresborough Player’s Puss in Boots takes place at Frazer Theatre, Park Crest, Knaresborough HG5 0EQ from 7pm onwards, tickets cost £10 for adults, £8 for concessions.
