Chetham School of Music's Symphony Orchestra

Enjoy a concert held by Chetham’s School of Music students

Ripon is excited to host students from Chetham’s School of Music for an afternoon of entertainment at Holy Trinity Church.

The event, named Shaping the Future, celebrates the development of youth music and offers locals the opportunity to come together and enjoy the musical talents of the next generation.

Holy Trinity Church in Ripon prides itself on being part of the local community, and is the perfect setting for this classical concert and celebration of young talent.

Free for under 18s, from £10 for adults, doors open at 2pm and the concert starts at 3pm, January 11, Holy Trinity Church Ripon, Kirkby Road, Ripon, HG4 2EY.

Watch a Meat Loaf tribute concert

Masham Town Hall will host All Revved Up, a Meat Loaf tribute act starring Peter Young and supported by his band.

Honing in on his stage presence and vocal skills, Peter Young’s performance aims to embody the energy and excitement of Meat Loaf’s rock ‘n’ roll’ music.

Tickets £17, doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm, January 9, Masham Town Hall, Market Place, Masham, HG4 4DY.

Paul Mirfin in concert

Explore an afternoon of art and music

Starbeck Methodist Church will see Paul Mirfin, a Knaresborough-based artist and musician, return for a live acoustic performance alongside a support act by vocalist Wai.

In addition to playing his American blues hits, Mirfin will be showcasing a small exhibition of his paintings inspired by the Yorkshire landscape and railroads. The event that takes place on Sunday afternoon will also include a talk about Mirfin’s journey into both music and art.

Free for under 12s, teenagers £5, £10 for adults (tickets to be purchased at the door), 2.30pm, January 11, Starbeck Methodist Church, 93 High Street, Starbeck, HG2 7LH.
