Follow Harrogate floral trail

Harrogate town centre will start looking rather more colourful this week, thanks to the return of the Floral Summer of Celebration.

The floral trail will return to Harrogate this Friday, July 18, with a series of exhibits celebrating the ‘jewel in Yorkshire’s crown’ that are set to be in place for a minimum of three weeks.

Some of the locations where the floral installations can be found include The Yorkshire Hotel, The Cenotaph, Cross James Street, Beulah Street, Harrogate Theatre, Montpellier Hill, West Park Church, Library Gardens and outside the Nicholls Tyreman site on Albert Street. Read more about the event here.

Check out Hampsthwaite Feast

Hampsthwaite Feast and Show is returning this weekend.

The event, which is organised by volunteers for residents in the village, is held over two days – Friday and Saturday.

It's an annual community event for the village, with Hampsthwaite residents encouraged to attend and participate as well as it being a big draw for visitors.

Activities include a traditional feast fancy dress parade, accompanied by Tewit Youth Band; a sports day with children's races; judging of homegrown fruit and vegetables; a 5km cross-country race on the Saturday (participants will need to sign up beforehand); and will finish with fireworks on Saturday night.

18 and 19 July, see the website for times and further details, Hampsthwaite.
