To celebrate Harrogate Theatre’s 125th birthday this year, six of the town’s community theatre groups are coming together for a one-night-only gala event to help raise vital funds.
Featuring a vibrant mix of drama and musical theatre, the evening will have performances from Harrogate Dramatic Society, Harrogate Phoenix Players, Harrogate St Andrew’s Players, HOPS Musical Theatre Company, RAOS Musical Theatre Company and Woodlands Drama Group.
Showcasing songs from Evita, Sister Act, Kinky Boots, Calamity Jane, Shrek the Musical, &Juliet and excerpts from 23 Hill End Lane, Glorious! and more.

Known for being a family-friendly festival, Deer Shed festival is a must for all ages, whether you're intending on going for the day or for the whole four-day event.
Featuring music – some of the bands that will be playing this year include Wunderhorse, Kae Tempest and The Big Moon – as well as comedy, arts, science, theatre and sport, the festival has something for everyone, all to the backdrop of beautiful North Yorkshire parkland.

The Yorkshire Pudding Throwing World Championships at Borrowby Show
Three well-known rural shows are happening this weekend: Borrowby Show, Birstwith Show and The Aldborough and Boroughbridge Agricultural Show.
The first, features everything you could possibly want from a summer show, including a dog show, gymkhana, show jumping, scheduled animal classes, tractors, vintage cars, and a 5km run, as well as the Yorkshire Pudding Throwing World Championships, and this year is the show's 75th anniversary.
The second, Birstwith Show, is an agricultural show. The village has hosted a show most years since 1867 and the event is traditionally held on the last Saturday of July.
For the latter, The Aldborough and Boroughbridge Agricultural Show is now in its 110th year. Held at Newby Hall, it makes for a fun day out for all the family, featuring competitive classes, family races, and kids fancy dress, as well as all the usual summer show attractions.

If you've never taken a guided tour of the town's theatre, you can do so this Saturday.
Explore the venue's 125 years of history, where you can uncover the secrets behind the Victorian theatre, and even the ghost, 'Alice', who is said to haunt the stalls area; some believe she was an actress, an usher, or even a friend of the theatre's founder.
The tour will be followed by a cream tea in the theatre.

Now in its 30th year and organised by Ripon Old Cars, Ripon Classic Car Gathering is taking place at Ripon Racecourse this Sunday and features classic and vintage motorcycles, tractors, car clubs and specialist car stands.
The family-friendly event will have a plethora of other attractions taking place on the day, such as children’s entertainment, live music, stalls and trade stalls of all descriptions, an auto jumble, games and quizzes, as well as food and drink.
