All 200 tickets for tomorrow night’s Stray Ferret election hustings in Harrogate have been snapped up.
Tickets are free, and if people who have booked do not turn up, they will be re-issued to those who turn up on the night.
The event starts at the Wesley Centre at 6.30pm and is expected to finish at about 8.30pm. Doors open at 6pm. All Harrogate and Knaresborough candidates except independent Stephen Metcalfe are due to attend.
Each candidate will give a short introduction before we ask questions submitted in advance by readers. You still have time to suggest questions — email contact@thestrayferret.co.uk.
Please note we will give preference to questions that focus on issues specifically relevant to Harrogate and Knaresborough. Candidates will not be informed of the questions in advance.
After a short break, we will then invite questions from the audience, again giving priority to those that focus on local issues.
This is one of two election hustings the Stray Ferret is holding this week. Tickets are still available for the second one, which takes place at Holy Trinity Church in Ripon on Wednesday night (June 26) at 6.30pm. All eight candidates in Skipton and Ripon will answer questions following the same format as the Harrogate hustings.
Both events are free to attend. The Stray Ferret is committed to holding politicians to account. Next week we will be introducing a small fee to access our content. However, our General Election coverage will continue to be free until July 5.
