Bin collection days are to change in the Harrogate district.
North Yorkshire Council said in a statement today (April 7) all waste and recycling collections will take place between Tuesdays and Fridays from April 21.
The council statement said the decision to end Monday collections was part of its harmonisation agenda across North Yorkshire and would ensure the service “remains as efficient as possible”.
It will also reduce the need for bank holiday disruptions, the council added.
Letters informing people of what the changes mean to them are expected to go out in the next few days.
Cllr Greg White, the council’s executive member for waste services, said:
By making collections from Tuesday through to Friday, we can provide a more reliable and consistent service for all residents across North Yorkshire.
We are now writing to all residents in Harrogate and the surrounding area, advising them of their new collection day, so they’re urged to keep an eye out for any changes they might see.
Residents are also being reminded they will need to continue to present their rubbish and recycling at their collection point by 6am.
From April 21, residents can also check their new collection day online here.
