Crews gained access to the back of the lorry and extinguished the fire and then followed the lorry back to Harrogate to ensure nothing was still alight inside the lorry. After using a thermal imaging camera, crews were confident the fire was out.
Harrogate firefighters were called to an altogether different incident at 2.05pm — a rescue mission to save a cat.
The incident happened at Winksley Grove in the Jennyfields area of the town.
The incident report said the incident ended happily:
“Harrogate crews responded to a call regarding a small cat that had been stuck in a metal gate and was struggling to breathe. Crews were able to save the cat by cutting the gate and the cat had no injuries.”
