Both Boroughbridge and Baldersby will welcome their first reformer and mat Pilates studios next month.
In the last two years the Harrogate district has seen four new studios open. And there is no doubt that the new editions in Boroughbridge and Baldersby will add to the popularity of this growing trend.
The Pilates Space took to social media last August to announce its opening in 2026.
Talking to The Stray Ferret, founder Emma Turner revealed that she has over five years experience in Pilates, during which she has taught both mat and reformer classes in Harrogate and Ripon.
She added:
My hobby became my passion and my passion became a habit that I couldn’t live without. And these combined gave me the push to finally take the leap of faith to make it my career.

The studio aims to offer both mat and reformer Pilates which Emma hopes will cater to both “complete beginners” and those that are “masters at the craft”.
When talking of her hopes for The Pilates Space, Emma added:
The studio will initially offer a mix of mat and reformer classes running from the early morning into the evening on weekdays and Saturdays.
Once established we hope to expand our offering to include barre and pre/post-natal pilates.
We are very lucky to be bringing the first mat and reformer studio to Boroughbridge, which I am sure is rare these days.
Danielle Would, founder of ReforMR, also took to social media last year to announce the opening of Baldersby's first mat and reformer Pilates studio next month.
Danielle, told The Stray Ferret that she "fell in love" with "relaxing and intentional movement" of pilates whilst pregnant with her first child.
She added:
Following my second pregnancy, I decided to dedicate some time to myself and train as an instructor, to be able to share my passion with others.
And I hope that all of the classes at ReforMR leave people feeling empowered, confident and connected.

Danielle, who also has background experience as a personal trainer, told The Stray Ferret that ReforMR will host classes for all fitness levels.
She added:
We will also offer a fitness class which i have ran for the last three years across North Yorkshire called 'Mummies and Minnies'. As I want mums to have a safe space to exercise without having to leave their babies.
We hope to create a functional, yet calming, training space where our clients will be at the core of the studio.
The Pilates Space in Boroughbridge will officially open on February 23, offering mat and reformer classes six days a week.
ReforMR located in Baldersby is set to open in February, offering classes seven days a week from 6.15am to 8.30pm.
