Boroughbridge man denies intentional strangulation
A Boroughbridge man has denied charges of intentional strangulation and criminal damage.
Matthew Hudson, 22, appeared at Harrogate Magistrates Court yesterday (June 3) where he spoke to confirm his name, age and address.
Mr Hudson, of Waterside, was charged with two counts of intentionally strangling a named victim on November 2, 2024, in Darlington and on January 19, 2026, in Boroughbridge.
He also faced charges of assault by beating and assault occasioning actual bodily harm on the same victim on January 19 this year.
Mr Hudson also faced three counts of criminal damage to a property in Boroughbridge on the same date.
The 22-year-old denied all charges put to him.
He will appear before York Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on July 6, 2026.
