Bradleys fish and chips takes over Graveleys of Harrogate
Well-known town centre fish and chip shop Graveleys of Harrogate has been rebranded as Bradleys.
The family-run business was listed for sale for £195,000 in October – just eight months after it reopend.
The Stray Ferret reported on the expected sale this month, after being informed by a source that the Cheltenham Parade site was set to be taken over.
Neither company responded to requests for comment at the time but workmen were today on site changing the signage to Bradleys.
Bradleys already operates shops in Starbeck, Northallerton and Scarborough.
The Stray Ferret has approached Graveleys of Harrogate and Bradleys for an update.
The Harrogate site is undergoing a makeover.
The site has had a turbulent recent history. Catch Seafood bought it from Graveleys in 2019 and spent £250,000 refurbishing the unit, including installing a champagne and oyster bar.
However, all five Catch restaurants fell into administration in 2022, which paved the way for Simon Pilkington, the son of former Graveleys owner Robert, to return a year ago.

The reopening of an established fish and chip shop that had been popular with theatre goers captured the imagination, but a year later the shop appears to have changed hands again.
Bradleys currently advertises fish and chips for £7.50. It also offers scampi, veggie burgers and other chip shop standards, including battered sausage, chicken nuggets and mushy peas.
