North Yorkshire Police has sealed off a section of the Harrogate Ringway footpath following an incident.
Police cordons were in place this evening (January 29) at two locations on the ringway.
Police officers were guarding both sites.
One of the cordons is on Kent Road, in the upmarket Duchy part of the town.
The other is on nearby Oakdale Glen, close to Oakdale Golf Course.

The two points are connected by a short, narrow section of the ringway.
Officers at the scene would not reveal what had happened. One advised us to contact the force’s corporate communications department, which we have done.
The ringway is a circular 21-mile route around Harrogate.
