A bespoke salon is set to open in Ripon next month.
The owner of Love Hair and Beauty Boutique is set to take on a new solo venture and bring a bridal salon to the city.
Deborah Chalmers, 55, has owned the salon on North Street for the last 13 years and has been hairdressing for over thirty years.
She has now sold the business, but it will remain open with stylists Shavonne, Alison, and Fiona continuing with their clients.
The North Street salon will operate under new ownership, transitioning into an independent space where hairstylists can rent chairs in a shared environment while managing their own client bases.
Ms Chalmers will relocate to the former Blossomgate Barber Shop which is set to open in early November.
She specialises in bridal hair and make-up and has decided now is the time to focus on her niche.
Ms Chalmers said:
I have made the challenging decision to relocate my business, I work on location, so I often go out to hotels and people’s homes so I’m not there to manage my own salon.
Balancing daily operations of a high street salon with the responsibilities of being a working mum is quite difficult.
I am excited to be opening a space to elevate bridal hair and offer a more bespoke one to one experience rather than clients coming into a busy salon.

Ms Chalmers has spent “the last few months” renovating the unit to create a luxurious feeling.
She estimated that the refurbishment has cost between ten and fifteen thousand pounds so far. The building has a new floor and bathroom and has been “future proofed.”
She will continue hairdressing with her current clients but focus on her wedding hairstyling.
She added:
I really enjoy bridal work it is a lovely environment and people are always so happy.
I aim to offer an exclusive but affordable experience. I create chic looks for modern brides and with the makeup I like to make brides look done up but not overdone.”
The new space will be lovely, I get to create beautiful hair and offer a bespoke service to bridal clients and for my regular clients I can elevate the experience and take it from high street to very personal.

Ms Chalmers has lived and worked in Ripon all her life. She told the Stray Ferret that Ripon is a great place to be in the wedding business because there are multiple local wedding venues such as Grantley Hall, Swinton Estate and Little Seed Field.
She added:
I love Ripon, and it is perfect because there are lots of venues within an hour of Ripon that get a lot of brides who have travelled from out of the area but choose to come here to get married.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the clients I've had the pleasure of meeting throughout this journey. A special thank you goes to all the wonderful team members, past and present.
The support I have received during this transition is truly heartwarming, and for that I am deeply appreciative
