Following news earlier this week of Slingsby Gin’s slide into administration, the company handling the disposal of its assets has put out a call for potential buyers.
BPI Asset Advisory is urgently seeking expressions of interest in the brand, which is operated by Spirit of Harrogate, as part of a formal insolvency process.
Andrew Cromack, director at BPI Asset Advisory, said:
The UK craft and premium spirits market continues to show strong growth potential, and Slingsby Gin is a well-loved brand with an established following. We are looking for serious and interested parties to take this iconic brand forward, preserving its reputation and loyal customer base.
Slingsby Gin was founded in 2014 by local entrepreneurs Marcus Black and Mike Carthy, and the brand has gained a national reputation, bolstered by advertising and sponsorships of golf events, horse races, awards categories, and even Attitude magazine’s drag queen lip sync competition.

Slingsby Gin has sponsored many sporting events around the country.
The business operates a flagship store and gin experience on Montpellier Parade in Harrogate, and sells a range of gins, as well as offering gin-sampling experiences.
The sale includes stock, intellectual property such as registered trademarks, brand name, recipes and the company’s social media following, as well as gin-tasting equipment, office and IT equipment, and a vehicle.
The offer deadline is 12 noon on Friday, February 6.
