Claire’s is holding a closing down sale at its shop in Harrogate.
The shop, which sells accessories and jewellery, has been a long-term fixture in the Victoria Shopping Centre.
However, multiple signs have gone up in its window announcing the closing down sale and advertising 30% reductions.
Up to 150 Claire’s stories, and about 1,000 jobs, are believed to be in jeopardy nationally after the company entered administration again this week.
A notice in the window of the Harrogate store says Kroll Advisory was appointed administrators on January 26 and is now managing the business.
The Stray Ferret understands the company is still hoping a last-minute buyer can be found to save the business, but it's unclear when the local branch is set to close.
The investment firm Modella Capital acquired Claire’s in September after it previously fell into administration.
Modella filed notices of intention to appoint administrators for Claire’s and another of its brands, discount store The Original Factory Shop, shortly after Christmas.
The notice in the window of the Harrogate shop says goods bought before the administration can be refunded or exchanged. Items purchased afterwards can only be exchanged if they are defective.
Claire’s, which also provides ear piercing, was founded in 1961 in America.
