North Yorkshire Council bosses are set to be questioned by Harrogate businesses on the future of the county.

Cllr Carl Les, Conservative leader of the authority, and Richard Flinton, chief executive, will attend a meeting of Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce on Monday, January 13.

The pair last addressed businesses at a Harrogate chamber meeting in January 2024.

The event, which will be the chamber’s first meeting of 2025, will cover the ongoing devolution process, its impact on local businesses to date and the council’s plans for the region’s future growth and prosperity.

Chamber president Phill Holdsworth said:

This event provides a timely opportunity for important dialogue between regional leaders and representatives of local organisations. Attendees will benefit from crucial insights from North Yorkshire Council in the wake of last year’s general election, and local devolution.

We encourage business leaders to take this unique opportunity to shape the future of our town and region.

The meeting will take place at Rudding Park Hotel from 5.30pm to 8pm.

The event is open to both chamber members and first time visitors, both of whom will need to register their attendance in advance via the chamber website here.
