Darley batters Ben Cutts and Jim Grange put on 374 runs on Saturday (June 27) to set the highest partnership ever in Nidderdale League history.
Playing against Embsay in the second division fixture, Cutts hit 199 and Grange struck 182 to help their team pile up 438 for 5 in 45 overs.
It was the second highest total in Nidderdale league history.
After a sweltering afternoon chasing the ball, Embsay could only muster 183 for 7, which meant Darley recorded a crushing 255-run victory.
Opener Cutts smashed an astonishing 14 sixes and 20 fours, only to fall one short of his double century.
Grange, who came in at number four with the score 34 for 2, hit 10 sixes and 20 fours. None of Darley’s other batters made double figures.
The club posted on social media:
Yesterday was one of those days that will be talked about at Darley for years to come.
Gutted to see Cuttsy miss out on a double by just one run, but what an innings. Jim was unbelievable at the other end too. Two incredible knocks and a partnership that may take some beating.
A proper team performance, a brilliant day for the club, and a few records coming back to Crake Lane.
Darley are fifth of 12 in the division, sandwiched between Masham and Ouseburn.
The Nidderdale League began in 1894 with six founding clubs: Dacre Banks, Hampsthwaite, Birstwith, Glasshouses, Pateley Bridge, and Ripley.
