Details of Harrogate summer roadworks

Victoria Avenue roadworks

An updated list of roadworks planned in Harrogate this summer has been released.

Weeks of disruption are expected on Leeds Road, Otley Road and Knaresborough Road as part of the programme.

Councillor Paul Haslam, who represents Bilton and Nidd Gorge on North Yorkshire Council, got the information from the council and published it on his Facebook page.

The post also provided an update on the long running Victoria Avenue roadworks, which are not due to end until mid-July.

The scheme includes upgrading pedestrian crossing upgrades, new pavement, new bins and benches and a new bus stop near the West Park United Reformed Church.

The junction with Beech Grove and Victoria Avenue will be amended to prevent vehicles making an illegal straight-ahead movement from Beech Grove.

Here are details of what is happening and when:

Beech Avenue - Multiway signals. Until May 25.

Chudleigh Road - Road closure. Until May 23.

Skipton Road - Multiway signals. Until June 2.

Grove Road - Multiway signals. Until May 20.

New schemes

East Parade - Two-way signals. Until June 2.

Bower Road - Road closure. Until June 6.

Queens Road - Road closure. Until June 29.

Dragon Parade - Multiway signals. Until June 17.

Dragon Road - Multiway signals. Until June 17.

Trinity Road - Road closure. Until June 29.

Prospect Road - Road closure. Until July 4.

High Street - Multiway signals. Until July 12.

July 14

Otley Road, Harrogate - Road closure. Until August 15.

York Place - Multiway signals. Until August 17.

Knaresborough Road - Multiway signals. Until September 9.

O2 Telecommunications also has work planned on May 19 and 23. These will be evening works between 8pm-5am under temporary traffic signals on Hornbeam Park Avenue, near the junction with Hookstone Road and the railway station carpark.
