Now that the weather is finally starting to warm up, it’s time to make the most of the great outdoors with many people thinking of where they can go to cool off.

Yes, a trip to the seaside is always welcome, but did you know that there’s an outdoor heated pool much closer to home?

Situated within Rudding Holiday Park, Harrogate, non-residents can pay to use it, and it is somewhat of a hidden gem to many people in the local area.

The Stray Ferret spoke to head of marketing at Rudding Park Nicola Cook about her thoughts about whether locals in the area are aware of it or not:

I don't think they are. It feels like a bit of a secret because it sits within the grounds of Rudding Holiday Park and there are no external signs to indicate the pool even exists.

Holiday Park Manager Phil Walters further added:

The best bit is you don’t have to be staying at the Holiday Park to be able to use this facility.

We love to welcome people from Harrogate and the surrounding area and the fact it’s a heated pool to 32 degrees means that it’s a wonderful space for families to enjoy come rain or shine.

Swimming sessions for non-residents are £6 for a 75-minute session and they can be booked throughout the day. Under threes go free.

There also a children’s playground should little ones have further energy to burn off. For more details, click here.

4. Whitby Outdoor Swimming Pool

Whitby's offering is more of a paddling pool so perfect for families with small children. It has lovely views of the sea and has a mini golf course nearby so you can make a day of it.
