As the evenings draw in and the leaves begin to turn, autumn is the season for creating homes that feel cosy, welcoming and stylish. It’s also the approach behind independent home and lifestyle store Seddon and Davison, opening their doors in Harrogate this September.
Founded by wife-and-husband team Kara Seddon and Mark Davison, their style is best described as modern rustic with a touch of Nordic Luxe. Expect natural materials, earthy colour palettes, pale gold and timeless pieces that bring comfort and character to everyday living.
Autumn is about creating spaces that feel lived-in but beautifully put together.
It doesn’t need to be complicated – a few thoughtful touches can completely change the feel of a room says Kara.
What makes Seddon and Davison stand out is their accessible approach to interior styling. Customers will find affordable, quality pieces alongside statement furniture, so there’s something for everyone.
The new Harrogate flagship will feature furniture, lighting, ceramics, glass and dinnerware, candles and soft furnishings, as well as Mark Davison’s wildlife and landscape photography and the original homeware collections it has inspired. According to Kara,
Every piece we choose has to feel unique. It’s about quality design and lasting appeal – whether it’s a key piece for a room or a small gift that feels special.
Visitors will be able to explore seasonal ideas for bringing warmth into their homes, not just for autumn but through the year ahead:
It’s the details that make a home feel welcoming. You don’t need a full makeover – just a few considered pieces can make the difference says Kara.
The Harrogate store officially opens on Saturday 6th September at 8 Westgate House, Albert Street. Mark adds:
Harrogate feels like the perfect next step for us, allowing us the space to showcase our collections properly, while continuing to support the high street. We want shopping with us to feel enjoyable – about discovering pieces you didn’t expect and taking inspiration from how things come together.
