The summer solstice may be just five days away, but the miserable summer weather has continued in the Harrogate district this weekend.
Temperatures have barely risen above double figures today and a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms remains in force until 10pm tonight (June 15).
Yesterday also saw plenty of rain until the clouds cleared for a glorious evening with spectacular skies.
Reader Andrew Smith sent us this photo of a double rainbow, which he captured over Harrogate last night.
According to the Met Office, double rainbows are formed “when sunlight is reflected twice within a raindrop with the violet light that reaches the observer's eye coming from the higher raindrops and the red light from lower raindrops”.
Mr Smith said he took the photo on his phone with no filters.
