David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire, will be at Ripon Racecourse on June 4, to pick up tips on ways of saving energy and cutting costs at a business event.

The event will be held in the Claro Room between 4pm and 6.30pm and be followed by a complimentary evening of racing at the Boroughbridge Road track.

The event will bring together local businesses, green technology experts and public sector leaders to explore how energy efficiency, renewable solutions, and government grants can help Ripon businesses to increase margins and save money.

The evening has been arranged by business support organisation Ripon BID and the Ripon Together ECO group, with support from Harrogate-based environmental experts Energy Oasis and the racecourse executive.

David Ingham, of Ripon Together, said:

In attendance we will have representives from Grantley Hall, The National Trust at Fountains Abbey, Swinton Estates, Ripon Cathedral, Newby Hall Estates, along with North Yorkshire Council's climate change champion, and the business and environment team from the combined authority.

All are giving their time free of charge to provide reliable information and help.

Employees, owners or directors of Ripon businesses wishing to attend should email manager@riponbid.co.uk for an invitation.

The cost-saving event and evening of racing is free of charge for up to two representatives per company. A deposit of £10, repayable on arrival, will be charged for each attendee to discourage no-shows.
