The good weather looks set to continue for the next few weeks, and residents across Harrogate and the district have been able to enjoy a whole host of activities lined up, making the most of the sun.
The Stray Ferret’s lifestyle team has been hard at work; not only to keep readers informed about all the latest events, but to also shine a spotlight on the amazing individuals, businesses and stories that best represent the region.
Knaresborough feva is currently in full swing, and ahead of the 10-day celebration, we spoke to the spoken word director, to find out more about the festival's backstory – and what people can expect to enjoy this year.
As part of the festival, touring theatre troupe The HandleBards cycled into the grounds of Conyngham Hall to perform Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors, reviewed by our theatre writer Lauren.
It appears to have been quite the week for theatre; we also made the hour’s trip from Harrogate to Bishop Auckland to witness the spectacle of Kynren first-hand and share everything we found out about the experience with our readers.
Billed as a 90 minute epic capturing 'two thousand years of history, myth and legend' all about England’s heritage, the live-action show is running over the summer months.
There’s good news for frazzled parents too – last week, our food writer Yemi whipped up a fuss-free, family favourite recipe to make school holiday meal times a lot less of a chore, and this week’s round up of things to do in the district also contains some interesting, child-friendly suggestions.
As always, we’ve got an equally packed schedule this weekend too; our biweekly history series is back, highlighting another remarkable former resident of Harrogate.
Keeping the spotlight on the town, we’re also exploring Cold Bath Road, to find out just why it’s becoming such an independent business hotspot.
Taking a short trip up the A1 to Ripon, we visited Norton Conyers earlier this week, to learn the stories and secrets surrounding this historic home – look out for a future feature sharing everything we learnt from our trip.
Finally, subscribers to the Stray Ferret can enjoy a range of fantastic exclusive offers and discounts for local businesses. This week, we're featuring our partnership with Claro Hill Vets, which is offering subscribers a free consultation for cats and dogs, worth £45.
Don’t miss out on quality news in the district - by subscribing for just £4.99 a month or £49.99 annually, you will be able to access all daily news, in-depth features and lifestyle content as well as a whole range of fantastic exclusive discounts and offers.
