The Stray Ferret's lifestyle team is always hard at work, shining a spotlight on what's happening in the Harrogate district. Christmas is fast approaching, and we've been extensively covering all the festive news and events happening in the community.
Don't forget to check out our regular round-up of activities to find out what's happening in your area - it's published every Wednesday, to provide some inspiration for the weekend. From a crochet Christmas party to a festive horror pop-up, there's plenty to do between December 20 - 22.
Looking back to last week, the team has continued to produce a number of photo galleries from festive events across the district, taken by a professional photographer - check out our images from the Harrogate v Leeds Tykes rugby game, Knaresborough Christmas market and Santa's Festive Funland at the Yorkshire Event Centre.
Our Photo of the Week went down a treat too - it was of Bilton Grange Primary School's KS1 nativity. We love having happy faces on our featured pictures. If you have one you'd like to share, send it to letters@thestrayferret.co.uk.
That wasn't the only reference to one of the festive period's sweetest traditions last week. We published our feature on Killinghall C.E Primary School's nativity Bethlehem Bake-Off, celebrating the hard work that the staff and students put into the play.
We also spoke to staff at Saint Michael's Hospice, to find out how they make the festive period as special as possible for patients and families in their care. It really reinforced the important work the charity does, offering an insightful Q&A with head nurse Amy Butler.
Our food writer Yemi continued her festive countdown, educating readers on how to stock smart for a stress-free Christmas.
Looking ahead to rest of the week and the weekend, we have a number of upcoming articles to look out for.
We've spoken to a number of families in the district, to find out their quirky festive traditions - everybody does Christmas a bit differently, which is exactly what makes it so fun.
Speaking of traditions, we've also revisted a history article written by Malcolm Neesam about how Christmas would have looked in 19th century Harrogate.
Now we all know Father Christmas is a busy man on December 24, but we've found a local celebrity who has a packed schedule too - Nigel the donkey, who has an important festive job.
