Firefighters were called to a combine harvester fire near Knaresborough yesterday.
Crews from Knaresborough and Harrogate responded to reports of a fire in a field on Hay-a-Park at 3.55pm.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said the incident caused 100% fire damage to the combine harvester and It involved approximately 10 metres x 10 metres of standing crops.
An incident log from the service said:
Crews used two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. Farmer was also in attendance and used their plough to create a fire break to prevent the fire spreading amongst stubble and crops. Crews then used a thermal imaging camera to check for remaining hotspots.
