A Victorian workhouse in Great Ouseburn has been converted into two high-end homes that have just been put on the market.
The Grange and the Old Grain House take their names from the property's later incarnation as the offices of grain merchant Campbell and Penty.
That company, which was founded in 1921, vacated the site when it was taken over by Norfolk-based Saxon Agriculture in 2018 and moved to Tadcaster.
Now, the property has been remodelled by Croft Developers and the Main Company into two large homes, retaining original features such as brick arches, daylight tunnels and high ceilings.
The two properties, which are being marketed by the Boroughbridge office of GSC Grays, feature exposed brickwork and reclaimed oak flooring and includes the original staircase, but also have newer features, such as bespoke kitchens, woodburning stoves, and a multipurpose garden room.
The Grange is for sale for £1,475,000 and the Old Grain House for £1,275,000.
