Four teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences following an incident in Knaresborough last night (May 20).
North Yorkshire Police today said the teens – including two boys aged 17 and two men aged 18 – were arrested after a man was chased by a group of people.
The group got out of the car and threatened the man, before driving past him and threatening him with what he believed was a viable firearm, police said.
Today’s statement added the group’s car was traced by officers and stopped in the Chain Lane area of Knaresborough at around 9.30pm.
The vehicle was searched and officers recovered three imitation firearms.
Two of the suspects were arrested on suspicion of affray and firearms offences, and another two were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.
All four remain in police custody at the time of writing.
