Full list of Harrogate Town Council election candidates revealed

The full list of candidates for the Harrogate Town Council election has been revealed.

Voters will head to the polls to elect the first ever town councillors on May 1.

Nineteen councillors will be elected in wards previously used by the defunct Harrogate Borough Council.

The Conservatives and Liberal Democrats will field candidates in every seat. Reform UK will contest 18, the Green Party 14 and Labour eight.

Just two independents, Paul Haslam and Christopher Dunn, will stand on polling day.

Councillors elected on May 1 will serve a term of two years. Elections will be held again in 2027 for a four-year term to align with elections for North Yorkshire Council and all other parish councils
