A fundraiser has been launched to raise money to help two Harrogate kittens to fight a disease.
Biscuit and Upsydaisy, who are in the care of Harrogate Cat Rescue, were recently diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis.
The disease is associated with a viral infection called feline coronavirus and was until recently considered untreatable.
However, new treatments have since been introduced and the Harrogate charity is now looking to raise £4,000 to help cover the cost of their care.
The charity said:
FIP treatment isn’t a quick fix. It’s a long and demanding journey — but one that can truly save their lives.
Every single day for around 12 weeks, Biscuit and Upsydaisy will need their medication. It has to be given on time and without fail — because missing even one dose could set them back. The medicine is powerful, and it works, but it comes at a huge cost.
Throughout the treatment, they’ll need regular blood tests and vet visits. These check-ups make sure the medication is doing its job, and that their tiny bodies are strong enough to keep going. Each test, each consultation, adds to the cost — but also adds to their chances of survival.
