Ripon Together has unveiled its Summer FunFest programme of free activities for people aged six to 18.

Bookings are now being taken for an action-packed five days featuring a wide variety of sports, games and crafts, which starts on August 19 and runs until August 23.

Parents or carers of those with children wishing to participate, need to book in advance via the Ripon Together website and under 11s taking part must be accompanied by a parent or carer.

David Ingham of Ripon Together, told the Stray Ferret:

This is our fourth year and will be our biggest yet, as coaches from Ripon Rockets Netball Club, Ripon Rugby Club and NYP Tristars are joining us for the first time and will be on hand for any young person wanting to have a go at their respective sports at locations across the city.

In addition, there will be cricket coaching, croquet, crazy golf, table tennis, tennis, rounders, football and the ever-popular large inflatable 'Wipeout' style assault course, as well as drumming and dancing sessions and an opportunity to learn circus skills.

All of this has been made possible through the support of local organisations, businesses, Ripon City Council and the city's two North Yorkshire Councillors, Barbara Brodigan and Andrew Williams.

Parents and carers of children who receive free school meals or who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are also asked to book FunFest places on the North Yorkshire  Together FEAST system.
