The future of Homebase in Harrogate remains unclear amid reports of further stores going on the market.
The Plumpton Park DIY store is one of 119 Homebases in the UK and one of five in Yorkshire. The others are at Leeds, Bradford, Selby and Hull.
The company fell into administration on November 14. CDS Superstores, which owns The Range, is buying up to 70 stores as well as the Homebase brand saving up to 1,600 jobs.
However, a further 74 leasehold stores in the UK and Ireland were put on the market this past week, according to media reports. Potential buyers have until November 29 to express interest.
But, the Plumpton Park store is not among those listed.
The Stray Ferret approached Teneo, which was appointed administrators for the DIY chain, to ask whether the Harrogate outlet was among those sold in the rescue package.
A spokesperson said the administrators would not be “giving out any additional detail at this stage”.
Hilco Capital acquired Homebase for £1 in 2018 and has since closed more than 100 stores.
Homebase chief executive Damian McGloughlin said the last three years have been "incredibly challenging" for DIY stores.
The Harrogate store on Plumpton Park remains open and trading as normal.
A statement from the government’s Insolvency Service confirmed that Homebase stores that form part of the rescue package will continue to trade until they are handed over to CDS.
It said:
Homebase stores will continue to trade until handed over to CDS.
This follows the sale of 11 UK stores to Sainsbury’s, with completion expected on a further three. The remaining 49 UK stores will continue to trade as normal whilst the Joint Administrators continue discussions with interested parties.
