A year of commemoration came to a fitting finale in Ripon this morning when Spa Gardens stood in silence for two minutes to remember the city's servicemen and women, who laid down their lives in two world wars and other conflicts across the globe.
A reminder that the 'war to end all wars' turned out to be a wish rather than reality was seen in the absence of Ripon's Royal Enginners, who had the answer the call of duty elsewhere.
Here are some photos from Spa Gardens today.
