The annual Ripley Show, which dates back to 1849, took place in fine weather yesterday (August 10).

The traditional country show was held in the grounds of the Ripley estate, courtesy of Sir Thomas Ingilby.

It featured breeds of cattle, sheep, horses, donkeys and ponies as well as attractions such as a BMX display, Terrier racing, vintage car and tractor shows, and a giant tortoise.

A question mark has hung over the event since the Ingilby family put the Ripley estate up for sale in June 2024.

But last week show secretary Tammy Smith told the Stray Ferret the event was already booked for August 9, 2026.

Here are some photos from this year's event, all taken by Douglas Young.
