The cost of having garden waste bins emptied by the council looks set to rise again.
North Yorkshire Council has proposed an increases for the brown bin service, as well as for collecting bulky waste and supplying waste containers, in 2026.
It expects to generate £300,000 from the changes.
Aimi Brookes, service development manager for waste, has recommended that the cost of garden bin collections rises from £46.50 to £49 in a report to councillors ahead of a meeting this week. The service is non-mandatory — residents choose whether to subscribe.

This would represent an inflationary rise of 3.2% plus £1.
Ms Brookes has also proposed to increase the charge for removing bulky waste, which includes items over 25kg such as fridges and sofas, from £17.50 to £18. Residents on council tax discounts for low income will still be eligible for a 50% concession.
Her report added:
The council needs to ensure that the price charged for bulky waste is affordable and does not lead to fly tipping.
The cost of supplying additional waste containers, such as wheelie bins, is also recommended to go up from £34 to £35.
The report says:
The cost is an administration fee, and all bins remain the property of the council. If bins are damaged or fail, except in the case of deliberate misuse, they will be repaired or replaced free of charge.
Councillors on the environment executive are expected to approve the changes on Friday (November 1).
