The giant Vision Wheel that will be in operation in Ripon for three weeks has arrived in the city.

The wheel will be in place from Saturday (April 5) until Sunday, April 27.

The 33-metre high wheel, that will be assembled over the next few days, will be located on the south side of Market Square in front of the town hall and will be open daily from 11am to 7pm.

A trip on it will cost £5 for people under 1.4 metres and £7 for people over 1.4 metres.

Lilla Bathurst, manager of the business support organisation Ripon Business Improvement District, said:

There are no advanced bookings available so people should just turn up and enjoy the historic sights of Ripon as they have never seen them before.

There will be amazing views from this fantastic attraction. With the wheel set to stand higher than the obelisk people will be able to see over the whole of Ripon and beyond.

We very much hope that this new addition for the 2025 Easter holidays will draw in visitors from a large catchment area, increasing dwell time and spend whilst encouraging them to discover all of Ripon’s wonderful businesses.
