A Harrogate art hub is on the lookout for a new venue 15 months after launching.
Creative Harrogate opened its doors on Victoria Avenue in December 2024 with the aim of being a home for creative people from all walks of life to share their ideas and work.
When the Stray Ferret visited the hub during its launch event, Sarah Devenald and Tony Georgiou, directors of Creative Harrogate, said the aim of the initiative was to “remove barriers to enable creative, positive and fulfilling activity”.
The venue included space for open mic sessions, workshops and arts and crafts.

However, in a newsletter this past week, Creative Harrogate said it was now on a lookout for a new home after losing the site at Victoria Avenue.
It said:
The sad news is Creative Harrogate has lost the space at No2 Victoria Avenue. Commerce has won over creativity and we have to move on.
However, we are not going to let this little set back stop our endeavours to provide a dynamic creative hub for Harrogate.
The newsletter added:
In the 18 months we have been in existence we have met so many talented practitioners who have shared their skills and expertise.
Many enthusiastic participants in workshops, events, gatherings, writing and art making and joyous creativity generally and we would like to carry on providing a space where all these wonderful people can continue meeting, talking, laughing, being creative sharing ideas, being productive and just enjoying what they are doing.
Creative Harrogate has called on anyone with information on a new venue to contact annabel.creativeharrogate@gmail.com.
