A local author’s collection of ghost stories inspired by the Harrogate district is now on sale.
The Seen and The Unseen by Harrogate-based Rory ffoulkes features 11 "supernatural and folk horror tales" inspired by classic ghost stories, films and children’s television.
A press release describes the short stories as "a series of dark, witty and deeply unsettling encounters based in or inspired by Spofforth and other villages surrounding Harrogate".
The collection includes a tale about a hapless man visited by an ancestor who is determined to reclaim the family’s honour, and a young woman with an "unrelenting and incomprehensible hunger".
The Seen and The Unseen is available to buy now on Amazon.
The publication follows Mr ffoulkes’ illustrated children’s book, Sarah the Spectacular Squirrel, was released in 2021.
